Ke$ha biography

Kesha Sebert, better known by her stage name "Ke$ha" (pronounced "Kesh-a," not "Keisha," "Kee-sha" or "Kee$ha") is a recently popular Pop/Electro/Dance artist. Although her career is dated all the way back to 2006, the female vocalist began to see a rise to fame in late 2009/early 2010. Her debut album "Animal" is available on iTunes. Her first breakout single is "Tik Tok" and fans are constantly searching for the lyrics to the song (Tik Tok Lyrics here). Other hit songs on her album "Animal" include "Hungover", "Backstabber", and "Blah Blah Blah" (featuring 3oh!3). Many people will also ask "how tall is Kesha Sebert?" Ke$ha has noted that she prefers taller men because she is 6'1" (or 185 cm) tall (see pictures here), so she certainly is not considered short. People often wonder if Ke$ha has a boyfriend or is currently in a relationship. The answer is no, Kesha Sebert does not currently have a boyfriend.

Ke$ha's brother is currently up for nomination for a Pulitzer prize, which is an award for excellence in journalism so Kesha's mother has certainly raised some successful children.

Musical Style

Ke$ha has worked with a number of pop, hip-hop and R&B artists in various capacities, which has greatly improved her visibility in the pop scene. Notable acts include Flo Rida, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, The Veronicas, and several others. Ke$ha has also noted that some of her influences are rooted in disco, although she has never worked with anyone in that field. Obviously Kesha's dance music has been at least partially inspired by disco.

Rise to Fame and Musical Background

Early in her career Ke$ha spent her time away from music working as a waitress to make ends meet. Ke$ha is known for her wild antics, especially when she snuck into the home of the Artist Formerly Known as Prince's home in Beverly Hills and left a copy of her first demo. She was quickly removed from the premises by Prince's security guards, but she had already achieved her goal. As of current information it does not appear that Ke$ha plays any instruments such as guitar (and she is left-handed not right-handed) or keyboards, but she does write all of her own songs.

Ke$ha currently lives in Los Angeles, California, very near the place where she was born in San Fernando Valley on the outskirts of LA. Kesha was born at an actual party to a single mother who was also a singer/songwriter. Later on her mother relocated the family to Nashville, Tennessee where Kesha got her start in music.

Ke$ha was also a presenter with Justin Bieber at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

Ke$ha Live Performance and Tours

Kesha has built a great deal of hype around her live shows, especially by playing in places such as the Red Light District in Amsterdam. She makes her thoughts on these events highly accessible to her fans via her Twitter account. She has a promiscuous motif in her songwriting that many young girls may try to imitate, but actually this is not the goal. Kesha is simply trying to empower women by writing about themes and acting them out on stage the way men would do things, to prove that there is a double standard for women. In reality, she is an activist for women's rights instead of being a poor example for the girls of today's youth.

Influence in Style

Ke$ha is a trendsetter for women and girls of all ages, especially with her unique hair style. Many people wonder how they can get their hair to look like Kesha Sebert's, but this is a difficult task (see pictures of Ke$ha's hair here). She has also noted through her Twitter account that her hair is "uneven, but I still like it." Some fans seek to imitate her so much that many have even claimed to get a Ke$ha tattoo in various places on their bodies. Kesha Sebert has a dollar sign tattooed on her hand, originally as a joke to remind herself that she didn't need money early in her career, she "was money." Tik Tok was Kesha's first breakout single, and has made it to #1 on the Billboard Top 40 (see Ke$ha on the Billboard charts here). Ke$ha was inspired to write the lyrics for “TiK ToK” one morning after waking up from a crazy night of partying surrounded by several of her gorgeous, naked, female friends. She thought: “This must be what P. Diddy feels like every morning!”

Ke$ha had her record release party on January 5th, 2010 to showcase her debut album, "Animal." She has reported via her Twitter account that you can listen to the entire album on her Myspace page.

Ke$ha tweeted on January 10th, 2010 that she was going to a photoshoot for Rolling Stone magazine. Will Kesha's photo be on the cover? No one is sure right now, but Rolling Stone has released a teaser to guess the next cover.
